When you need to find the right parts for your staircase you have a few different options to start with. The first thing you can do is find the wood stair treads that you will use. If you go with metal treads you will have a few different options than with wood. With metal you will notice right away that the stairs will be loader than wood. Wood seems to absorb the noise while metal can actually amplify it. So if you want peace and quiet around your home it is a good idea to go with wood over metal for the treads. If you are using wood for the treads, you will usually use wood for the risers as well. Although it isn’t required most of the times it is a little easier to do that. If you are going to be coving your treads with carpet you don’t need to pay too much attention to the type of wood that is going to be used for them. As long as it is solid wood and is set to stand the test of time you will be good to go.
